Cooperation with the BNP Paribas Foundation
Common vision
We have been cooperating with the BNP Paribas Foundation since 2016, joining our efforts to reduce social inequalities.
Our first joint project was “Global Challenges Local Solutions”, which aimed to help people with refugee experience meet their basic needs and support them in the integration process. Two years later, in response to insufficient support for foreign children in Polish schools, we jointly created a tutoring and scholarship programme called Knowledge to Power. Its aim is to comprehensively support children with refugee experience in their educational paths and individual development. Cooperation on the programme as well as subsequent joint activities resulted in a strategic partnership in 2021. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the support of the BNP Paribas Foundation allowed us to quickly and effectively respond to the needs of people fleeing the war in Ukraine and expand the necessary integration offer. In our cooperation, the alignment of the missions of our organizations, partnership-based treatment and trust are of great importance to us.
Goals achieved
During the 6 years of the Knowledge to Power project duration, 192 children with migration experience, including refugee experience, were provided with educational support. Many young people participate in the programme for several years, which allows them to successfully complete their primary and secondary education and take up higher education or employment.
Financial support after the Russian invasion of Ukraine ensured stable financing of the Foreigners Assistance Centre in Łomża until mid-2024 and provided people fleeing from the war with the necessary mentoring, psychological and legal assistance, as well as support in looking for employment.
Stable partnership results in a real impact on the everyday functioning, educational opportunities, safety and development opportunities of people with refugee experience, including children and youth.
